It's a testament to dedication, loyalty, and the enduring spirit of teamwork. At SMO, we recently had the privilege of commemorating such a milestone and the retirement for Paul Cathcart. Colleagues gathered to pay tribute to Paul, who had been a cornerstone of SMO for a quarter of a century. Laughter and camaraderie filled the room as stories were shared, memories recounted, and heartfelt speeches delivered. From Paul's early days as a bright-eyed newcomer full of enthusiasm to their current role as a seasoned veteran and mentor, their impact on [SMO and its culture](https://smoworks.com/our-values)was undeniable. Through Paul's hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence, he had not only helped shape the success of our organization but had also left an indelible mark on the lives of those he had worked with.   Below is a quick bio on Paul: - Hired on 1/1/1999 - Team Member of the Month in October of 2000 - Team Member of the Month in August of 2003 - Team Member of the Year in 2004 - Worked at multiple job sites for SMO   Below is a quick quote from Paul's supervisor: "Paul has always, from day one, been the same person that he is today. He is someone who succeeds at whatever he does. He is one of the most responsible and well liked supervisors in our company. If I had to choose one team member to be like when I grow up, it would be Paul. His laid back, soft spoken voice is a reflection of the excellent character he possesses. He works above and beyond his scheduled shift and has a can do attitude."   As the celebration drew to a close, Paul was presented with a commemorative plaque and a watch, symbolizing his 25 years of service and the lasting legacy that he created. The celebration served as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and honoring the dedication of [our team members](https://smoworks.com/our-team-members).
