This year's Thank Your Cleaner Day (TYCD) will be on October 21st. Do you ever think, "How did my office got so clean?" Maybe you wonder, "Who took my trash out last night?" Perhaps you're questioning, "Who replaced the paper products at my facility?" The biggest one today might be, "How and is it safe for me to return back to work?" While we all know the answer, do we ever get around to thanking these hard-working professional cleaners for the work they do? If so, thank you. If not, the perfect opportunity is coming up.
2020: Fighting Off Covid-19
Today more than ever we should be thankful for our professional cleaners. They have been first responders to combatting COVID-19. They have been making it possible for us to continue working and live as normal of a day to day life as possible. While they are disinfecting, cleaning, and killing germs, we are fortunate enough to know that our facility has been taken care of because of these hard-working professional cleaners.
These are individuals that work hard at their job to ensure that our office spaces, schools, factories, etc. are clean and healthy for us to work in and visit. Without their hard work, we would not enjoy the benefits of being able to work and learn within environments that are pleasant and inviting. October 21st gives us an opportunity to officially express our gratitude to those dedicated workers.

Expressing Your Gratitude
What are some of the ways in which you can express your gratitude to your cleaning service providers? Here are a few suggestions:
- Express your appreciation through a small gift. Set up a lunch for your cleaning staff or set aside a few minutes during the day on the 21st for soft-drinks and snacks.
- Publicly thank your cleaners by posting a message on your social media sites. If possible, post a video to highlight your appreciation.
- If you are a BSC, make your clients aware of Thank Your Cleaner Day. Let them know what steps you will be taking internally to show appreciation to your cleaning operators.
- Print out and post the TYCD poster. Display the poster at a couple of high-visibility locations within your facility.
- Deliver notes of appreciation to all members of your cleaning staff.
- Reach out and deliver a personal "thank you." Few things demonstrate sincere appreciation more than a heart-felt "thank you."
Your cleaning service providers work hard on a year-round basis, especially this year with the COVID-19 pandemic. They provide you with a working environment that is clean and healthy. October 21st will be your opportunity to offer your sincere gratitude for the invaluable services that they provide.
