Few things promote operational efficiency more than the standardization of processes. Performing cleaning tasks in ways that are effective, consistent, and repeatable is absolutely essential. Documentation

Many in our industry often overlook the importance of proper documentation. Once cleaning processes have been standardized they should be documented. It is important that the cleaning operation implement a robust document control system that will support the operation's ability to store, access, and revise its documentation in a controlled manner.

Depending on the specific needs of the operation the document control system can be manual or automated. There are several document control software packages available on the market today.

Setting Targets

Where do you want to go and when do you want to get there?  Establishing a few targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) will provide you with the means for tracking your progress towards improved cleaning operation efficiency. Make sure to set targets and KPI's that can be objectively measured and verified.
